For the seventh year in a row, I am delighted to share that Exciting Windows has our gorgeous window treatments featured in the 2015 Colorado Springs Parade of Homes! This year, Exciting Windows was invited to create window treatments for Copperleaf Homes. Located at Site 16 in the Black Forest - 12755 Oak Cliff Way, our window coverings are on display through August 23.
Consulting for the Parade of Homes
When I first walked into The Hemingway to begin a design consultation on the window treatments for the Parade of Homes, I knew the bold, tall windows in the home's impressive great room would offer an excellent opportunity to
create an amazing window covering. The interior of the home is done in rich grays and delicate whites, offering an elegant look that is sure to impress Parade of Home visitors. I wanted to create a window treatment that complemented the designer's work, while highlighting the incredible architecture of the home and framing the views that make living in Black Forest such a treat.
Designing Custom Window Treatments
After my visit to the Copperleaf Home and my meeting with the decorator, I began to design The Hemingway's custom window treatments. To highlight the large windows of the great room, I created long side panels in a cool white crinkled sheer mounted on a beautiful decorator pole. Although it was a bit more complex, I created the window covering as one huge piece to give it a more dramatic impact. I treated other windows in the great room, as well as the windows in the dining room, with relaxed Roman valances. For those treatments, I used a white sheer fabric that accented the home's décor without overpowering the space. As a final touch, I created a custom window seat cushion.
It is always a privilege for Exciting Windows to be invited to share in the celebration of the Colorado Springs Parade of Homes. I hope you'll be able to visit The Hemingway at Site 16 through August 23 and see the work of Exciting Windows for yourself!
